Dr. David Steiner, Medical Director

David Steiner, MD trained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY with a subsequent Fellowship at the acclaimed Mentefiore Headache Center and Pain Management. Dr. Steiner is Chief of Neurology at Peninsula Hospital Center, Medical Director of their Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Unit (one of only 5 in all of New York City) and is the Director of their Stroke Center that he founded. Dr. Steiner is head of the local Parkinson’s Chapter and has widely lectured on topics of headache, pain management, stroke and general neurology in addition to speaking for the local epilepsy society.

 
 

 

Jaiya Rampersad, RPA-C
Jaiya joined Five Towns Neurology & Physical Medicine in early 2008 having trained at Touro College of Health Sciences in Bay Shore, New York. She did her undergraduate work at SUNY Stony Brook - with rotations through LIJ, Maimonides Medical Center, Winthrop University Hopsital, Parker Jewish Medical Center, Coney Island Medical Center and Long Island Surgical Care, PC. She has worked as an Ophthalmic technician and has served as a subinvestigator on multiple clinical trials as part of Five Towns Neuroscience Research. She has done extensive inpatient and outpatient neurology including serving as part of a New York State Designated Stroke Center First Response team including being part of NIH Clinical Trials.

 

Phil Lowenstein, RPA-C
Phil joined Five Towns Neurology & Physical Medicine in mid 2009 having trained at LIU Physician Assistant Program in addition to obtaining and working as a paramedic previously educated at SUNY Stonybrook. Phil obtained his undergraduate at SUNY Oneonta. Phil also serves in the military as a commisioned office in the reserves - he has worked for the FDNY as part of EMS and completed postgraduate training in a surgical residency for PA's. He also serves as a instructor for ACLS/ALS at Touro College and has experience in Emergency Room Care.
of all aspects of neurophysiology to help bring a new level of expertise to all of the neurological testing conducted in the office. Doctors Yakutilov and Safarov are fluent in both Russian and English.


Hiral Uphadhyay, RPT
Hiral joined Five Towns Neurology & Physical Medicine as a physical therapist with expertise in neurological disorders, orthopedic and sports injuries. She offers her unique blend of broad experience with attention to individual patient needs and an emphasis on one-on-one, "hands on" therapy..
